Guest: Marsha Penner
Marsha Penner is a Behavioral Neuroscientist who specializes in the Neurobiology of Learning and Memory. She earned her Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the University of Arizona in 2008, where she did research on how age-related changes in the brain affect learning and memory. She has spent the last 10 years teaching a variety of undergraduate courses at the University of Washington and at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, where she has been recognized for excellence in undergraduate teaching and public service.
She has always been interested in how organisms learn and remember, and this curiosity, combined with her love for all things behavior, led her to dog training. In 2015, she completed Karen Pryor’s Dog Training Professional Program to become a Certified Training Partner (KPA-CTP). With her expertise in animal learning, neuroscience, and teaching, she offers a unique perspective on the science of learning for both humans and dogs!
In this episode we discuss:
